LACE GALLERY (GALERIJA "PAŠKE ČIPKE")
A gallery on the craft of lacemaking, which exhibits the most beautiful works of Pag. This craft is still practiced.
The gallery showcases this still-practiced craft. Crafted over time by the women of Pag, lace was first used to decorate costumes, then to adorn household linen. The exhibition showcases the island's finest work. The women, seated in front of the houses, also show you their work in the hope of selling it. Their arms are sometimes swollen from the exhausting work. So it's easy to understand why a small piece of lace can cost a minimum of €26.
