Imposing military castle in Kornat, the highest building on the island, accessible by hiking with a panoramic view of the archipelago.
Dating from Byzantine times, this imposing military castel remains the island's highest building on Mount Metlina (237 m). A hiking trail leads from Kravjačica. Allow around 1 hour's walk, and bring water and a hat, as the treeless scrubland offers splendid panoramic views, but hardly any shade. Once you reach the fort, the 360-degree panoramic view of the islands is splendid. They seem very close, accessible by swim. But it's an optical illusion, so don't try it!
