Une excellente cuisine méditerranéenne
My partner and I shared a starter that was a sample of all the different starters on the menu, which was super tasty and a great way to try them all. Then I had the venison and gnocchi stew, which was so tender and delicious, I cleaned the bowl with the freshly baked bread, my partner had sword fish steak with potato and spinach mash. I can also recommend the mint cordial, which was refreshing and a great palate cleanser particularly when eating the different parts of the starter.
The presentation of the food was simple but elegant, and the vibe of the place was classy (excellent service) but not pretentious. We went in the afternoon and sat out on the terrace, which had a lovely relaxed feel.
We'll definitely be going back the next time we visit Split.
Pretentious menu with very disappointing seafood entries, including crawfish with no meat, rubbery monkfish, mediocre mussels, tasteless raw fish, over-soft octopus, dry and overcooked tuna. (Duck and venison were better, said some of our party of seven.)
Gruff, loud waiters who took their sweet time responding to our requests for their attention, at every stage throughout the meal. At the end, an incorrect bill that took 15 minutes to fix.
Our bottle of wine was simply poured out straight, with no pretense of allowing us to taste and approve the bottle upon uncorking.
Another example of how Michelin reviewers have no idea what average people look for in a restaurant.
The bread was very heavy and tough to chew. The veggie truffle pasta was very salty. The fish main was good though.
