Large quarry in Pučišća having a stonemasonry school and hosting apprentices from around the world.
The quarry has been open since ancient times. Famous Renaissance architects and sculptors worked the famous Brač stone here. Today, reserves are struggling to keep up with demand. The school (Klesarske škole) was founded in 1956 to encourage the revival of this noble craft. It welcomes apprentices from all over the world. All the island's tourist markets, as well as Split, sell a wealth of objects carved from Brač stone.

les œuvres et la qualité du travail des jeunes sculpteurs exprimant en direct leur passion, la beauté du marbre blanc de l'ile de Brač, les ornementations symboliques et traditionnelles de la Croatie (entrelacs - rosaces - chapiteaux … ) sur la façade du bâtiment.
L'école se situe au cœur de ce magnifique village, à quelques mètres des eaux cristallines de l'Adriatique, bordé de petites plages et d'espaces ombragés. Le beauté du site est exceptionnel.
