Large quarry in Pučišća having a stonemasonry school and hosting apprentices from around the world.
The quarry has been open since ancient times. Famous architects and sculptors of the Renaissance worked the famous Brač stone here. Nowadays, the reserves are barely able to cover the demand. The school (Klesarske škole) was established in 1956 to encourage the revival of the noble craft. It welcomes apprentices from all over the world. On all the tourist markets of the island but also in Split, are sold a lot of objects carved in the stone of Brač
