MENAT BRIDGE

Romanesque bridge with arches, classified as a historical monument, crossing the Sioule between Menat and Saint-Rémy-de-Blot.
This bridge as we know it today, with its Romanesque arcades, was built in the 12th century. Its origin remains uncertain: for some it dates from the Middle Ages, for others this passage was already used at the time of the Gallo-Romans. Classified as a historical monument in 1918, it crosses the Sioule between Menat and Saint-Rémy-de-Blot. For a long time, it was the only passage between the two shores of the Sioule and thus subject to dispute between the lords of Château-Rocher and the monks of the abbey of Menat. It offers a beautiful panorama on the Sioule as well as a privileged view.
