It's not Rio but the carnival in the old town - more like Venice - is worth a visit. Very romantic.
Sure, it's not Rio, but the carnival in the old town - closer to Venice in the spirit of the costumes - is worth a visit if you're here in winter. Dubrovnik wakes up from its slumber for a few days and the streets of the medieval city come alive again as in the summer (or almost). This is also the time to try kroštule and fritule, the typical Venetian carnival doughnuts that are widespread all over the Adriatic. Very romantic.
