Great celebration in honour of the city's patron saint. Whether it rains or winds, many processions. Impressive!
This is THE major religious and popular festival in Dubrovnik. Since the 10th century, Sveti Vlaho (Saint Blaise) has been the city's patron saint. In the dead of winter, rain or shine, Ragusa shines with a thousand lights. Relics are brought out for the occasion: numerous religious processions are accompanied by a musical program. Everyone's in town by 9am. It's also an opportunity to visit the beautiful Baroque church of St. Blaise.
