DOOR PLOČA (VRATA OD PLOČE)
Gate of the old town in the north-east of Dubrovnik, overlooked by the Assimov tower and with a statue of St. Blaise.
At the northeastern end of the city, the second major gate of the old town, the 15th-century Ploče Gate, is overlooked by the Assimov Tower. The gate is preceded by two churches (St Luke's and the Church of the Annunciation). Like the Pile Gate, it has an indispensable statue of St. Blaise, the local patron saint, and its bridges are similar to the northwestern gate. Going through this gate, you will reach the Ploče district, where the lazareti are located.
