Housed in Fort St. John, it traces the history of what has made Ragusa rich for centuries: its navy.

Located on the1st and2nd floors of Fort St. John, the Maritime Museum presents objects that bear witness to Dubrovnik's maritime activity during antiquity and the Middle Ages, right up to its peak in the 16th century. The maps and navigation instruments bear witness to the development of the Republic of Ragusa and its naval industry. Some paintings representing naval battles and models complete the exhibition. One of the best museums in the city to visit.

Sur 2 étages, ce superbe musée est beau, lumineux et bien entretenu. Il y a de nombreuses pièces exposées, tableaux, instruments. Dubrovnik occupait une grande place dans le commerce maritime. À faire absolument!
At the end of the martyred city walls, a beautiful museum which gives an account of the maritime size of the city, worthy concurrent of Venice.
very interesting museum, there are many things to see on two levels. As it was rather dull, enabled us expect a break cleverly.
