When to go Dubrovnik ?
For most travelers, Dubrovnik is a summer destination. It's easy to see why: the sun shines on this region for more than three months at a time with very few showers. The city comes alive with festivals and fills with tourists. But the rest of the year should not be underestimated! The Mediterranean climate often allows for swimming in spring and autumn, and in winter the Christmas markets give the old town a very special charm.
The Dubrovnik region has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and a few thunderstorms, and mild weather the rest of the year (rarely below 5° C). Beware, it can rain heavily - sometimes a whole day in a row - in autumn and in winter, the bura (Adriatic wind) can blow strongly. In July-August temperatures range from 22 to 30°C. December, January and February (average of 7 to 15°C) is the low season.
