CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS (ŽUPNA CRKVA SV. NIKOLE)
Church converted into a picture gallery to gather the collection of parish art, including works of art from the 15th to the 20th century.
Built in 1484, then improved in 1737, this small church was transformed into a picture gallery in 1952 to house the parish art collection. Some 70 works of art from the 15th to the 20th century are on display: paintings, sculptures, icons, crucifixes, reliefs... Among the more recent paintings is a beautiful painting of the Evangelists by Vlaho Bukovac (1855-1922), the great painter from Cavtat who trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
