MAKSIMIR-ZOO PARK (ZOOLOŠKI VRT GRADA)
The largest park in Southeast Europe, surrounded by centuries-old oak trees, with a fenced-in area reserved for the zoo.
In this vast forest, which has become the largest park in South-East Europe (18 ha), there's a place for everyone to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in nature amidst centuries-old oaks, near lakes and streams. In fine weather, you can easily spend a day or half-day here, with a picnic or a break at the Restoran Kod Morskog Lava. Streetcars 11 and 12 from Bana J. Jelačića Square take you there. A fenced-in area is reserved for the zoo.
