BOTANICKI VRT (BOTANICAL GARDEN)
English and Asian garden with a Japanese pavilion and various plants in a park in Zagreb with two artificial lakes.
Parallel to Mihanović Street, the park overlooks the railway station. It was created in 1889 by Antun Heinz in the spirit of an English and "Asian" garden, with its Japanese pavilion and a thousand varied plants. You can stroll along the paths, walk around the two artificial lakes where rushes, bamboos and water lilies grow, and follow the paths along the flower beds and shrubbery pruned in the French style. In winter, everything remains fallow, the park is closed.
