STROSSMAYER WALK
Wooded alley in the upper town with a panoramic view of the lower town of Zagreb.
With its Montmartre-like feel - locals call it Strossmartre - this wooded alley in the upper town was created in the 19th century. It is accessed on one side by a pedestrian walkway from Radičeva Street up to the ramparts, on the other side by a funicular, more stairs down to Tomićeva Street. The panoramic view of the lower city rewards the effort! You can rest next to a frail bronze figure sitting on one of the public benches. This is Antun Gustav Matoš, the poet, an emblematic figure of Zagreb bohemia.
