PLACE DU BAN JELAČIĆA
Large square at the foot of the hills with a bus and streetcar stop, cafés with terraces and many activities.
At the foot of the hills, this large square, which has existed since the 17th century, used to host fairs for the towns of Gradec and Kaptol. After the Second World War, it was renamed "Republic Square" by the Communists, who preferred it to the old name. In 1991, it was given back its former name, along with the equestrian statue of Ban Jelačić. Today, with its streetcar stops, café terraces and year-round entertainment, it's truly the heart of the city. You won't want to miss it!
