In this place is the oldest public garden in the city, designed in 1872 at the location of an old field of fair. The square with English influences is surrounded by buildings with eclectic architectural styles: neo-Renaissance, neo-Renaissance and classical. The music kiosk, the small meteorological monument and the fountain are the work of the architect Herman Bollé.
