Franciscan monastery in the center of the village with a huge tin sarcophagus and two beautiful monuments.
From their Croatian name Franjevački samostan i crkva Navještenja Blažene Djevice Marije. In the center of the village, the Franciscan monastery was founded in the 17th century by Nikola Erdödy and Ban Sigismund, during the Baroque period. Nearby, you'll find the communal church, built at the same time. It houses a huge pewter sarcophagus containing the body of the community's founder. Two fine historical monuments to discover on your visit to Klanjec.
