Built by the Jesuits at the location of a mosque, inheritance of the Ottoman period, the great church Saint-Michel is recognizable to its two high towers. Alongside the present courthouse, the religious also founded a college, in which the encyclopedist, Matija Petar Katančić (1750-1825), taught poetry.
