ST. EUSEBIUS AND ST. POLION CHURCH
Baroque church built at the end of the 18th century in memory of the two saints of Vinkovci, Eusebius and Polion.
This baroque church was built at the end of the 18th century in memory of the two saints of Vinkovci, Eusebius and Polion, who lived here during the Roman period. Eusebius was the first bishop of the city. Polion, an influential orator who refused to renounce Christianity, was martyred. The church was severely damaged (especially the tower and bells) during the War of Independence when attempts were made to burn it down. It was renovated between 1994 and 1998.
