Founded in 1967, Anek Lines is a company whose shareholders were initially ordinary Cretans who wanted their island to be served frequently and safely by large ships. In 1970, Kydon, the iconic ship connecting Piraeus and Chania for 20 years, made its first voyage. Today the company has an ultra modern fleet of 9 ships with Greek registry numbers serving, among others, Crete, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese and connecting Greece and Italy from Piraeus and Patras.
