In the heart of the Gazi district, where the vestiges of the industrial past are still present, Kanella has won the hearts of its Athenian clientele thanks to its grandmother's cuisine! The owners of the establishment have succeeded in their wager to create a "neo-Tavern" by offering simple and delicious dishes such as lamb with baked potatoes, a classic, as well as lentil salad. We'll get you dessert. An undeniably warm atmosphere, especially at weekends when the doors only close at dawn... Party people!

Kanella has been a very well known restaurant (taverna) in Gazi for many many years. It is as well known amongst the artistic people (actors, singers) as well as the locals. All its dishes and tapas are excellent! Prices are considered low to medium. Roze wine is especially good. The staff and owner are so polite and helpful you feel right at home. Once you get to know them they actually do treat you as a friend more and more. It is a must for people that live in Athens and for visitors as well!
