Boutique-hotel with balcony located in the heart of Plaka in Athens.
This neoclassical building, recently completely renovated, was built in 1936. It was one of the first hotels in the capital and boasts the first elevator... The air-conditioned rooms are small but clean, simply decorated, and some have small balconies which are pleasant in summer. Conveniently located close to Monastiraki Square, this hotel is a good value option. Double rooms have en-suite bathroom with shower. Hair dryer. TV. Safe deposit box.

Good: location. The location is excellent. Close to both Syntagma and Monastiriki with everything in between. Rooms are clean and have AC.
Bad/can be improved: there is a restaurant just next to it and it's looooud til about 2 am every single day. There is also cars driving outside at high speed 24/7 which makes noise. There is no sound isolation at all in the hotel so you will hear everything. We had trouble sleeping. Bring earplugs or noise cancellation earphones.
Breakfast started at 7, but not everything was served at 7. The days we were going out of town to Delphi, Mycene and Meteora with daytrips we were gonna eat early. We went there to 7 but only few things was served.
Ventilation does not really exist so the air in the room gets really bad and, because of the sound issue you can't have the balcony door open.
There are no English speaking tv channels to watch.
There are restaurants nearby, but not really any shop where you can buy snacks and water.
By far the biggest issue is the noise problem. We lost so much sleep over it, which affected our entire trip.
Definitely recommend
