Hotel located in the pretty Klissovis pedestrian street, offering very pleasant rooms and suites, all with balconies.

As boutique hotels have become a trend, the alternative neighborhood of Exarchia couldn't escape it. Located in the pretty pedestrian street Klissovis, the newly opened Pame Paradisso ("let's go to heaven" in French) offers very pleasant rooms and suites, completely renovated and refurbished, soundproofed, all with balconies. The accommodations are equipped with a mini-refrigerator, espresso machine and flat TV. The bathrooms, with shower, have a hair dryer and toiletries.

I’m a sucker for streets that are closed off to cars and this hotel was smack dab in the middle of one, with lots but not too much street life. (I’m glad I read the reviews in advance.)

Once we knew where we were going in Athens, this location became very convenient: 6 min to metro and walking distance to great bars and restaurants. There were some characters in the underpass around the corner but they were harmless. Anyone from a city knows the type and knows how to avoid them.

We didn’t mind that reception closed at 11pm. It was easy to go in and out as we pleased with the entry code. Staff also safe guarded our luggage after checkout on our last day.

Room was sparse but correct. Could use a little more decoration — and maybe a rug? I loved reading on the balcony after a long day of sightseeing. Bed was comfy. Water pressure in shower was strong. Shower gel smelled like birthday cake. Appreciated the water refill and coffee capsules in the morning!

BONUS: There’s an art gallery in the basement and the folks there invited us in to take a look and listen to live music. Nice see the place was alive!

** BED BUGS!!! ** If you are thinking of booking a stay here, I suggest not. The first night of our arrival, we were greeted with dozen of BED BUGS, hairs, and stains on the bed. We had to find a new Hotel at the middle of the night. Washed all our clothes, and lost two days of our vacation dealing with this mess.

We send the photos as evidences to the hotel for a refund. They did provide us a full refund. When we asked if they knew about the Bed Bugs issue, they said “THEY KNEW about it”, and then how come they are still selling the room? They did not seems to be willing to fix the issue, rather then just covering it up, and hoping it will go away by itself!

See the photos below for yourself. Saving you the headaches of booking with this establishment. They also are a chain so be aware of all their chain hotels, if cleanliness isn’t a priority here, I doubt it will be on the others.
