ARCHELON
The Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece is a marine turtles protection agency that has been working for over 20 years on the Zakynthos site in Crete, in the Peloponnese. It also manages the rescue centre for wounded turtles located in Athens.
What do they propose ? You can go to the rescue centre specialists or hire one of their sites. In this case, your mission will be to monitor, during the nesting period, turtles that are vulnerable by spawning and subject to attacks on predators.
Where ? Greece: Athens, Zakynthos island, Crete, Péloponnèse.
Prices and conditions. For a minimum of 4 weeks, Archelon engages major people in English or Greek. Volunteers are accommodated in the camps where a small kitchen is available. Participation costs are 200 to 300 € for 1 to 2 months (summer), plus 15 € of food costs per day and € 30 for membership in the association. 3 days of rest are scheduled in periods of 28 days. Possibility of half-time volunteering.
