NATIONAL GLYPTOTHEQUE
Museum open to the public exhibiting Greek sculptures and contemporary works.
This museum has given sculpture in Greece a new lease of life. It is housed in the former royal stables dating from 1900. In these buildings, completely renovated and opened to the public in 2004, one can admire Greek sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries. A retrospective exhibition offers the opportunity to discover the great Greek sculptor Giannoulis Halepas (1851-1938) as well as important works by Alexander Calder, Antoine Bourdelle and René Magritte. Sculptures are also on display in the surrounding green and welcoming park.
