Discover it here: dozens of stalls overflowing with meats, fish, cheeses, spices and dried fruit make life in Athens' central market. It's especially bustling at lunchtime, when the few tavernas set up inside fill up, like the famous Ιpiros, among others. In summer, the smells are sometimes a little strong near the meat or fish stalls, but the visit is well worth the detour. There are even small tables for lunch.
