This stadium (Στάδιο Γεώργιος Καραϊσκάκης/Stadio Georgios Karaïskakis) is the second largest in Greece after the 66,600-seat Athens Olympic Complex in Marousi. Built for the 2004 Olympic Games, with 33,300 seats and a museum, it is used by the most successful club in the Greek soccer championship, Olympiakos FC Piraeus. It occupies the site of the former velodrome used for the first modern Games in 1896. The Olympiakos volleyball stadium and the Athens marina at Neo Faliro are located on the seafront.
