RHAMNONTE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
Remains of the ancient city of Rhamnonte (temples of Nemesis and Themis, Athenian fort) with beautiful views over Evia.
This isolated site (Αρχαιολογικός Χώρος Ραμνούντος/Archaiologikos Choros Ramnountos) enjoys beautiful views over Evia and its islet of Kavalliani. It is home to the remains of the ancient city of Rhamnonte, which depended on Athens. You can see the bases of a sanctuary of Nemesis (5th century BC), goddess of vengeance, those of a temple of Themis (4th century BC), goddess of justice, and the walls of an Athenian fort (4th century BC).
