CAPE SOUNION BEACHES
To the west of the archaeological site of Cape Sounion: two small paying beaches, then at Legrena, beautiful free beaches.
Below the archaeological site of Cape Sounion, Sounio beach boasts superb views of the columns of the Temple of Poseidon and the islet of Archi (1.2 ha). However, it is part of the Aegeon Beach Hotel and access is subject to a charge. A little further on, in the same bay, the small beach of Kato Sounio is privatized by the Grecotel Cape Sounio and, here again, access is subject to a charge. But you'll find free beaches at Legrena (2.5 km west of the Grecotel) and Cape Legrena (4.2 km), including KAPE beach, one of the most enchanting in Attica.
