The "Byzantium Taverna" (Ταβέρνα Βυζάντιο) enjoys a beautiful setting with its terrace under bougainvillea, in a quaint pedestrian alleyway in old Nafplio. The staff are friendly and the menu pretty good: salad with manouri cheese from Thessaly-Macedonia, peppers with feta, grilled vegetables, "Vyzantio" potatoes with mizithra cheese from Argolid, grilled meats, Italian-style pasta, saganaki shrimps, fried squid, rabbit with onions, farmed sea bream... Drinks: Zeos beer from Argos, ouzo and agiorgitiko wine.
