NAFPLIA PALACE
Luxury hotel with swimming pools in the fortress of Acronauplie. Beautiful views, restaurant... and private villas with their own pool.
This luxury complex with swimming pools is located in the fortress of Acronauplie, offering superb views of the old town, the Bourdzi fortress and the gulf. The rooms are superb, with en-suite bathrooms, wifi, air conditioning, refrigerator... and access to the two large outdoor pools. But the real luxury here is the fully-equipped villa (seven have their own pool). However, some of the facilities are in need of renovation. Good breakfast, restaurant and bars open to all, plenty of services and parking.

If this was 100euro/night it would be an ok deal (even then not great), but at over $300/night this was an extremely disappointing experience.
There are three elevators to get to and from the city (below). Of the three, only one is functioning. It's extremely sketchy. The roads and area surrounding the 'palace' are poorly lit with nearby abandon/derelict buildings. Unsurprisingly, there is graffiti and trash everywhere outside of the hotel.
I think the view would have been one of the major upsides, however, it's not really a factor for the first floor units.
Save your money and choose one of the many other surrounding accommodations.
They’re running a skeleton crew of staff but those that were there were very lovely. Probably a place for more independent travellers that don’t need to be coddled
There are several pools but be aware if you have children they are pretty deep and hard to see the pool depth markers…there were no pool towels provided (luckily we had our own). The rooms need ultra upgrade…The linens were quality of a 2-star hotel…The staff were generally nice especially the gentlemen who assisted with the luggage; however, the ladies at the reception were not so amicable.
I wish that I had known this information instead of spending 380 euros per night for such an average hotel. The only thing that was worth was the spectacular view of the city of Nafplio. I DO NOT recommend this hotel but I do recommend Nafplio at a different hotel!
