Built in the century and twice converted into a mosque, it hosted the coronation of Greece's first king on January 15, 1833.
This cathedral (Ιερός Μητροπολιτικός Ναός Αγίου Γεωργίου/Ieros Mitropolitikos Naos Agiou Georgiou) dates back to the 16th century and was twice converted into a mosque. Restored as an Orthodox church in 1822, it hosted the coronation of Otto of Bavaria as King of Greece on January 15, 1833. It houses the king's first throne and an 18th-century fresco imitating the Last Supper, painted by da Vinci in Milan in 1498. Concerts on the square in summer during the Nafplio Festival.

What really impressed me though is this. New Year's Eve I had a chest/pain, and they went out of their way to find me a doctor, who came to the hotel within 15 minutes. I will never forget that.
