KOMBOLOI MUSEUM
Very small museum-boutique devoted to komboloi, a typically Greek "rosary" with no religious connotations. Exhibition upstairs.
This tiny museum-boutique (Μουσείο Κομπολογιού/Mousio Kombologiou) is dedicated to the komboloi, a typically Greek "rosary" with no religious connotations, since it serves merely to pass the time by shelling the beads. Upstairs, rooms A and B present religious rosaries from the 6th century BC onwards: Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim, then Catholic and Orthodox. Rooms C and D house some 1,000 komboloi from the 18th to the 20th centuries, in amber, mastic and ivory... Shop on first floor.
