PLACE SYNTAGMA
A pretty pedestrian square in the heart of the old town. Home to the Archaeological Museum, cafés, restaurants, etc.
The pretty "Constitution" square (Πλατεία Συντάγματος/Platia Syntagmatos) is pedestrianized and lies in the center of Nafplio's old town. Lined with neoclassical buildings and cafe and restaurant terraces, it stretches 80 m in length. To the west, it is dominated by the Archaeological Museum. To the south, the National Bank building was constructed in 1930 in a strange Mycenaean-inspired style. And to the east, the former Sultan-Ahmet or Aga mosque (1540) houses the Trianon cultural center. Straïkopoulou Street runs to the south.
