This former mosque housed the first permanent parliament of the Greek state (1825-1828). It is now a municipal gallery.

Completed in 1819, this former mosque housed the Greek state's first permanent national assembly (Βουλευτικό/Vouleftiko) from 1825 to 1828. It is now a municipal gallery. At the height of the War of Independence, some fifty deputies sat here. Created in 1822, the parliament had previously been itinerant (Epidaurus, Salamis, Argos...). In 1828, it moved to Pronia, the eastern suburb of Nafplio, and was dissolved in 1832, after voting full powers to King Otto. The Vouleftiko then served as a dance hall, school and prison..
