AGIA TRIADA CHURCH
A Franco-Byzantine church, often closed, that's especially worth a visit for its stunning exterior.
Slightly southwest of the village of Agia Triada, this stunning Franco-Byzantine church is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God (Ιερός Ναός Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου/Ieros Naos Kimiseos tis Theotokou). It was founded in 1280 by Guillaume de Moerbeke, Catholic archbishop of Corinth. Often closed, the church's main attraction is its exterior: inscribed cross plan and Byzantine brickwork, Romanesque and Gothic-style columns and windows, and superb relics of Antiquity (stones carved with figures, a sundial, etc.).
