ARGOLIDE BYZANTINE MUSEUM
Museum dedicated to the legacy of the Byzantine Roman Empire in Argolid. Meticulous, educational presentation.
This museum (Βυζαντινό Μουσείο Αργολίδος/Vyzantino Mouiso Argolidos) is housed in the Kapodistria barracks, a former Venetian military hospital (1690). It brings together objects from late antiquity to the 17th century: mosaics, ritual objects, a section devoted to the Andritsa cave (22 km to the southwest) where Greeks found refuge during the Slavic invasions of the 6th century... Careful and educational presentation on the Eastern Roman Empire, known as "Byzantine".
