One of the oldest human settlements in Europe, between 38,000 and 3,000 BC. Access via a path alongside the sea.
This cave (Προϊστορικό Σπήλαιο Φράγχθι/Proïstoriko Spilaio Franchthi) is one of the oldest places inhabited by man in Europe. It is a rock shelter that was occupied between 38,000 and 3,000 BC. The site is well laid out, with the reconstruction of a Neolithic cowshed. It can be reached by a path along the sea from Lampagianna beach, and offers fine views over Kilada Bay and the private islet of Koronida (23.5 ha).
