TRIPOLI ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Among the (poorly presented) collection: exceptional BC wooden vases and fine marble sculptures.
Housed in a neoclassical building dating from 1895, this museum (Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Τρίπολης/Archaiologikos Mousio Tripolis) brings together objects from the Neolithic to the early Byzantine periods discovered in Arcadia, but its presentation leaves something to be desired. It is worth a visit, however, for its three exceptional 3rd-century BC wooden vases from Megalopolis and its sculpted head of a woman with a superb hairstyle from 2nd-century BC Lykosoura.
