This imposing late 17th-century fortified house (Πύργος Πικουλάκη/Pyrgos Pikoulaki) houses part of the Byzantine Museum of Magne (another exhibition at Kardamyli). It focuses in particular on the very late Christianization of the region, with an astonishing survival of Greek polytheism until at least the 7th century. Collection of church frescoes and sculptures, including a magnificent 12th-century marble iconostasis from the hamlet of Mina, near Pyrgos Diros. Jewelry, glass vases, ceramics and painted icons from the 16th to 20th centuries.
