Built from the 17th century onwards, this 15 m-high tower (Πύργος Μούρτζινου/Pyrgos Mourtzinou) was part of a fortified complex with the beautiful neighboring church (Agios Spyridonos, late 17th). It belonged to the Troupakis-Mourtzinos family, descendants of the Palaeologos dynasty. Today, it houses part of the Byzantine Museum of Magne (another site in Areopoli). The three-storey exhibition, featuring maps, engravings, drawings, photographs and models, looks back at the history of the Magne during the Ottoman period.
