This museum (Ιστορικό και Λαογραφικό Μουσείο Καλαμάτας/Istoriko kai Laografiko Mousio Kalamatas) is housed in the early 19th-century Kyriakou house. Collections on agriculture (tobacco, wine, olives...), pottery, embroidery and crafts in Messinia. Upstairs, an exhibition on printing: in 1821, Kalamata was the first town in mainland Greece to be equipped with a printing press. There are also collections of costumes and post-Byzantine religious art.
