MUSÉE RENÉ-PUAUX
Collection of French philhellene René Puaux (1878-1937), especially engravings and paintings of the naval battle of Navarin.
This museum (Μουσείο Συλλογής Ρενέ Πυώ/Mousio Syllogis Ρενέ Πυώ) is housed in a beautiful red-walled neoclassical house, the birthplace of Greek Olympic champion and soldier Konstantinos Tsiklitiras (1888-1913). It houses the collection of French philhellene René Puaux (1878-1937), a native of Montivilliers, Normandy. The journalist and historian donated his engravings, paintings, documents, maps, medals, weapons and coins to the Greek state, mainly relating to 19th-century Greece and the naval battle of Navarin.
