At Montfermy, the Sioule remains untouched by hydroelectric infrastructure, forming an almost perfect loop at the foot of the village. It creates gorges less famous than those at Châteauneuf-les-Bains, but more accessible and richer in fish. A succession of wide, smooth stretches and currents rich in weed beds create charming gours here and there. With a width varying between 15 and 20 meters and an average depth of 1 meter, it presents an ideal profile for fly fishing. The waterfall and windmill add to the charm of the place.
