This port (Λιμάνι Ιτέας/Limani Iteas) welcomes cruise ships and boasts a large marina. During the First World War, troops of the French Army of the Orient landed here, before reaching Thessalonica by train. Nearby are the remains of the Pythian Games racecourse, where the famous charioteer of Delphi triumphed in the5th century BC. Drowned by the sea of olive trees that flows down from Delphi, Itea (population 4,500) boasts a beach and restaurants on the shores of the large bay of Itea.
