BOTSARIS TOWER
Fortified house framed by two and towers. Houses a museum on the great naval battle of Lepante (1571).
This beautiful fortified house (Πύργος Μπότσαρη/Pyrgos Botsari) is framed by two 15th- and 16th-century towers. It houses the Botsaris Foundation Museum dedicated to the naval battle of Lepanto, which saw the fleet of the Holy League (Spain, Venice, Genoa, the Duchy of Savoy, the Papal States and the Hospitaller Order) prevail over the Ottomans on October 7, 1571 at Cape Araxos, off Missolonghi. Most of the exhibits, including a painting by Veronese, are copies. Vague explanations, but a pleasant garden.
