ANCIENT THEBAN RUINS
Go there and contact
While going up the street Pindarou, you discover some vestiges of the palace of Cadmos.
Along the main Pindarou street leading to the rich Archaeological Museum, named in honour of the great Theban poet Pindar (518-438 BC), you'll discover the ruins of Cadmeus, the citadel of the ancient acropolis. Mycenaean remains can also be seen here and there. In the park of the Megalo Kastelli hill, 500 m east of the Cadmeum, a group of 16th-13th century B.C. burial chambers has been named the "Tomb of the Children of Oedipus", after the tragic fate of the family of the legendary Theban king.
