This port (Λιμάνι της Θεσσαλονίκης/Limani tis Thessalonikis) consists of three parts. Near the city center, quay no. 1 now houses museums. It is also the departure point for small boats to Perea. Next to it, the huge passenger terminal is almost empty, with only a few connections in summer, usually to Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, Lemnos, Lesbos (Seajets) and Samos (Blue Star Ferries). Finally, the entire western part of the island is taken up by the huge commercial port, which is not very attractive, but vital for the Balkans.
