This cooperative restaurant is "planted" in the nicest corner of Ano Poli: Tsinari, a name derived from the Turkish çınar meaning "plane tree". Waiters leap across the cobbled alleyway to bring to the terrace super-good stuffed vine or cabbage leaves, tarama with Chios mastic, wild mushrooms or asparagus (depending on the season), leek fritters (an old local Jewish recipe), pancetta with coffee and sage... With a pitcher of organic xinomavro, it's hard not to fall under the spell.

We visited on December 30th and had lunch there.
The porcini risotto is excellent and the grilled mushrooms are lovely.
