Under the arbour or in the dining room, the small restaurant "l'English" (Το Ίγγλις) offers succulent local specialties: bouyiourdi (fresh cheese with chilli), skoumbri (smoked mackerel), kavourma (cured beef)... Also on the menu: pork collar (our favorite!), Santorini fava, Lemnos pasta with tomato, Thracian cheese... Taken over in 2012, the establishment has existed here since 1970. But it was founded in 1914 in Anchialos (17 km to the northwest), a wine-growing village then renowned for its "English estate": İngiliz çiftlik in Turkish.

Ωραία ατμόσφαιρα και ευγενικό προσωπικό με πολύ μέτριο φαγητό.Η σπαλομπριζόλα δεν ήταν ψημένη όπως ζητήσαμε και ελαφρώς άνοστη,περιορισμένες και ακριβές για την ποσότητά τους επιλογές,ενώ (πρωτάκουστο για ταβέρνα)δεν υπήρχαν πατάτες,κολοκυθάκια κτλ.

Πολύ ζεστό μαγαζί με τρομερή ατμόσφαιρα. Ωστόσο οι μερίδες στα ορεκτικά είναι απαγορευτικά μικρές σε σχέση με το κόστος τους και η ποικιλία των κυρίως πιάτων στον κατάλογο είναι πολύ περιορισμένη. Ωστόσο, τα κυρίως είναι επαρκή σε μέγεθος και όλα νόστιμα. Θεωρώ σηκώνει βελτίωση η σχέση κόστους μεγέθους και οπωσδήποτε μια ανακαίνιση η τουαλέτα. Καλό το ιστορικό κομμάτι αλλά κάπου χρειάζεται και μια μικρή ανανέωση. Κατά τα άλλα ευγενικό προσωπικό και καλό φαγητό.

A gem hidden in the middle of Thessaloniki. Very atmospheric place with nice service. While we were inside, classical Greek music was playing on vinyl records. I ordered Chounkiar Mpegienti, veal with tomato paste and eggplant puree. We also got water and bread, and the final bill was more than satisfactory. I sincerely recommend this charming place.
